Index Tracker Fund
The purpose of an Index Tracker Fund or tracker fund is to mimic the performance of a nominated stock market index. These funds achieve this by holding the same weighting or proportion of shares or purchasing derivatives as the index it is imitating – the FTSE 100 index for example.
