New research from PruProtect has revealed that although more than half of Brits place their financial issues top on their list of concerns, almost one in ten do not have any type of insurance.

PruProtect found that nine per cent of people in the UK have not insured themselves in any way, despite more than 80 per cent of people saying they would be unable to maintain their lifestyle if they became unemployed.

In related news, a recent report by Friends Provident found that women are being less responsible with their finances than in the past and only slightly more women had taken out health or life insurance (29 per cent) than the number who had opted to spend their money on 30 pairs of shoes (26 per cent).

Other research from the company found that Scottish women were more likely to be financially savvy than their counterparts in other areas of the UK.

More than one in three Scottish women said they had health or life insurance.ADNFCR-1717-ID-18614090-ADNFCR
