27.08.2008

A number of car manufacturers are offering new loans to customers in order to boost sales, according to a new report.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Hyundai is offering zero per cent finance for four years on its i30 hatchback if customers are able to put down a 20 per cent deposit.

Describing the deal as "one of the best around at the minute", the newspaper states that when the car loan period comes to an end after four years, the vehicle will still have 12 months remaining on its warranty.

Meanwhile, French manufacturer Renault is giving customers the opportunity to take out a loan with a 6.9 per cent APR on its Scenic Dynamique 1.6 VVT and Skoda is offering free insurance when people buy one of is cars with a 6.2 per cent loan.

Earlier this month, the Finance and Leasing Association reported that during the 12 months to June 2008, half of all new cars were paid for using dealer finance.

This compared with 46.2 per cent a year earlier.
